I will be touring in the coming month with TaxiWars in the Netherlands and Belgium. Dates can be found in the gigs section.

Spring 2015 Update:

I had some great tours this Spring. We had a great series of concerts with Aleatoric in Finland and Estonia in March. We recorded some of the concerts and we will be selecting material for a new album soon.

I was on the road with TaxiWars for the release of our new recording on Universal this May. For now the record is only available in Belgium but the release in the rest of Europe will follow this Fall.

The new album of the NY Quartet ‘A Look Beyond (Cap-Vert Illuminations) will be out this October on Challenge Records. We will be giving a sneak preview of the album on May 25 during the New Music Festival at Bryant  Park in NYC.

Fall 2014 Update:

I had a great time touring with my NY Quartet in the US in September. The new recording of my Chamber Music America commission ‘Beyond Illuminations’ will soon be mixed and mastered. More info about the release will follow soon.

Also had a lot of fun playing and recording with TaxiWars in October/November. In December we will finish the mixing and mastering of the new TaxiWars record.

I will be touring in Europe in December with the new group of pianist Bram De Looze. I will also play concerts with Narcissus, Pablo Held and Marc Copland. All dates can be find in the gigs section. Hope to see you at one of these concerts!

Summer 2014 Update:

I had a great time this summer traveling all over the globe playing with Taxiwars, Aleatoric and premiering my work around Guillaume de Machaut. Right now, I’m preparing the September US tour and recording of my NY Quartet playing the CMA commission ‘Beyond Illuminations for which I did additional research in Senegal last June. I’m also preparing the new album of TaxiWars. We will record at the beginning of November and play some select concerts around that time. Dates of these concerts will be published soon in the Gigs section.

Spring 2014 Update:

I have been working in the last few months on a new repertoire for my NY quartet made possible through a generous grant from Chamber Music America and the Doris Duke Foundation. It has been very inspiring to study the works of Messiaen and Senegalese sabar drumming trying to come up with some unique and new music for this group. I’m happy to say that the music is now almost finished and we’re preparing the premiere concerts in the US for 2014. I’m very happy also to be traveling to Senegal this June to do more research for this project. The NY Premiere of this work is now scheduled for September 19 at Cornelia Street Cafe.

The 10-year anniversary tour with Narcissus was great. We had a lot of fun playing a new repertoire in four different countries and met a lot of great people along the way. More news about a forthcoming live album to follow soon.

I’m working on an hour long work for strings, woodwinds and two soloists to be premiered at the Mafestival in Bruges on August 5. The work is inspired by the music of Guillaume De Machaut and will feature myself and the great trumpet master Russ Johnson.

July will see the premiere of a new project called TaxiWars with singer Tom Barman. The first official concert will take place on July11th. There will also be some try-outs. Look for dates in the gigs section. More concerts will be announced soon.
